Joe & Liz

Romantic Cottage Elopement

If you’ve ever considered eloping, this is the blog for you. Liz and Joe had big plans to recite their personal vows among all their loved ones at *steam whistle brewery*, soon they found themselves needing to rethink their wedding plans as Covid hit. But rather than postponing, canceling or hold onto only one idea of their wedding celebration, they opened themselves to the possibility of eloping. And so, the day came that we had been chatting back and forth regarding, it would be held a Joe’s family cottage in *find location* set on a hill which overlooked the lake he had spent summers canoeing and swimming in. It would be a complete secret that they would only reveal to their friends and family after the papers were signed and the day had ended. To say that this was one of the most special experiences I have been a part of is an understatement. The day began with the couple decorating their ceremony space with candles and small vases filled with flowers, Liz wore a simple silk dress with an open back and carried a boutique of red and pastel florals deisgned by:…. With only an officiant, myself and the two of them present, they cried and laughed as they recited their touching vows to one another. Not much more was needed to commemorate their promises to each other but a bottle of popped champagne and a walk through the lakeside for their wedding photos. As the evening continued, they took a canoe ride to enjoy the last light of the day.

If you have ever dreamed of a secret elopement with your love, enjoy the story of Liz and Joe’s wedding day on the lake.
