Mackenzie & amir

hundred acre wood garden wedding

This day has become one that I look back on so fondly for so many reasons, beginning with the couple themselves. After the loveliest initial meeting over some wine at a local restaurant in the city, we soon came to discover the many common friends and ties we both had to each other, connections that meant we had been running into one another on many occasions previous to this meeting. So when Amir and Mackenzie made the decision to have us as their wedding photographers, that friendship only grew.

It was a hot, sunny day in August that the two wed. In the morning I listened in amazement about how the extremely talented florist, Mackenzie, spontaneously assembled her bridal bouquet as she sat, chatting with her sister in the early morning of her wedding day. To no surprise, it was one of the most stunning bridal bouquets I had the pleasure of photographing. When I finally pulled myself away from shooting the details of this wedding, I was immersed in the laughter and tears of the guests, as they watched Amir and Mackenzie recite their vows and follow the customs and traditions of their Persian wedding ceremony, and later, we danced into the night…
